The Open Day is an initiative that G.A.I.A. began in 2008, to coincide with the annual Australian Goddess Conference, in order to provide a program of seminars, workshops and entertainment that informs, educates and inspires women, men and children about Goddess Spirituality in Australia. This year, we have another fine selection of teachers, facilitators and artists, as well as the fabulous Goddess Marketplace to delight you!

We are also very pleased to announce that the enchanting Wendy Rule will be performing at the Open Day, and will have a stall with her music available for sale. Other presenters include:

This year, there will also be workshops for Sacred Men’s Lore, facilitated by Beau Ravn and Taffy Seaborne, in addition to Women’s workshops and presentations and entertainment for the whole family!

You are also invited to attend the Oracular Temple, where experienced clairvoyants and readers will be available for appointments.

THE ROLE OF THE FEMININE IN SACRED MARRIAGE

Within Sacred Marriage the roles of the Feminine and Masculine are equal.  Yet we live in a society where equality is rarely granted to women or the feminine.  What does Sacred Marriage mean to us, in our lives and in our relationships?  Is it possible to bring our whole selves – sacred, powerful, loving and free – into modern relationships and what are the implications of this?  How can Sacred Marriage be enacted in the absence of a committed and/or heterosexual relationship?

This workshop will be experiential and involve discussion, ritual and inner reflection. .  It will be fully participative, supportive and held in safe space.

Jane Meredith is a Priestess of the Goddess.  She lives in Northern NSW and runs workshops and rituals in both Australia and the U.K.  She has presented her work many times at the Glastonbury Goddess Conference (U.K.) and at the Australian Goddess Conference in 2006 and 2007.  Jane is a writer and has published articles, stories and has a forthcoming book: Aphrodite’s Magic: Celebrate & Heal Your Sexuality (early 2010).  She passionately loves trees, ritual, the cycles of the sun and moon, cats, chocolate and her child & husband.

Lucy Cavendish is a woman living in Sydney, Australia, with her pixie-like daughter and the spirit of her beautiful dog… She works magic every single day of her life, embracing it as a creed for personal fulfilment and happiness, and as a belief system that sees us as part of nature, and thus gives us all the motivation to respect and revere and delight in our unique experience here on Planet Earth.

Lucy is the author of The Oracle Tarot, Magical Spell Cards and White Magic, all of which are published internationally by Hay House. Her most recent works include The Oracle of the Dragonfae, and As Above, So Below, a meditational CD… She created Witchcraft magazine way back in 1992, and edited it for five years,  is a feature writer for Spellcraft magazine, Spheres, and has appeared in anthologies like Disinformation's Pop Goes The Witch! She is a classic book witch and adores writing and reading and creating powerful, life-changing and enchanted workshop experiences.

GrandMother Bilawara Lee

Bilawara whose name means Black Cockatoo, is a senior woman and Grandmother from the Larrakia Nation of Darwin Northern Territory. She is a Cross Cultural Awareness trainer, Conflict Resolution Mediator and Authorised Marriage Celebrant. Bilawara has over 57 year’s experience working, living and being part of a vibrant Aboriginal family and community. She is acknowledged and respected as a community communicator and teacher of the ancient wisdoms of Larrakia Aboriginal spirituality and healing.

At age 61, for almost 30 years, Anique Radiant Heart has dedicated her life and her talents to assisting women and girls to awaken the great Feminine Divine within them.  Gifted with a miraculous voice and the ability to open people’s hearts with her singing and teaching, she has facilitated Goddess mystery workshops/events, celebrating the Goddess through ritual and song in the United Sates, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Italy, Greece, Singapore, Hungary, Holland, Crete, Italy, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand.        

A keen scholar, author, singer/songwriter, artist and political activist, Anique’s love for the Earth, women and the Feminine Divine she lovingly calls the Goddess, has been the motivating force behind her extraordinary music and the work she does in the world.

A wylde goddess & former secondary school Art Teacher, Lynn walks the spiralling path of the Beauty Way as goddess, priestess, human, teacher and student of the sacred ways of Gaia/Pachamama. Through the circles she runs in meditation, creativity - sacred Art classes, Rainbow Moon Medicine Hoop Spiritual development classes, drumming circles and Medicine Drum making workshops Lynn guides, supports and encourages others to explore, understand & accept all aspects of themselves in deeper ways. Lynn is currently studying Holistic Counselling & facilitates healing circles led by Circle of Grandmothers [www.grandmothersspeak.com ] bringing the Divine Feminine Energies back into balance across Mother Earth.
